Ladies and gentlemen, Mini is officially in India now. The cherished British small-car marque, owned by BMW, has inaugurated their first showroom in the country, called Infinity Motors, in a posh locality at Santa Cruz (West), Mumbai, and has announced pricing of its most popular models. The standard Cooper will retail for Rs 25.50 lakh, the Cooper droptop goes on sale for Rs 30.70 lakh and the Cooper S Countryman is priced at Rs 32.80 lakh (all ex-showroom, Mumbai). Completing the roundup is the top-end Countryman High, which will be priced at Rs. 35.90 lakh. All models will come with a comprehensive 2 year unlimited mileage dealer warranty and a 12 year anti-corrosion warranty.
India is the 100th country that Mini has ventured into, and it seems like they are here to create a storm because the marque has already received around 100 bookings in the country. All the models are brought in via the CBU route, and Mini is offering only petrol powertrain options for now. Stay tuned as we bring you further updates on the company's plans in India.
