eMO unveiled at Detroit Motor Show in the US
Tata Technologies unveiled an electric vehicle (EV) concept, named eMO, at the Detroit Motor Show as part of Michelin's Challenge Design Display.

According to the company, the concept is a demonstration of Tata's capability to engineer a fully electric car all by themselves. The eMO has a minimalistic design and is capable of seating four adults with sufficient boot space. Tata have used recycled material to reduce production cost and they claim to have designed a car with the right size and power required by the customer.

The eMO is powered by a liquid-cooled, dual-motor, front-wheel drive system along with an air-cooled, 18.4-kilowatt (25 PS), high density battery. It has a range of 160 kilometres and a top speed of 105 km/hr. The suspension has an A arm and McPherson struts in the front and a semi-trailing link with separate mounting shock-absorbers and springs at the rear. Its front disc and rear drum brakes have ABS and ESP.

The eMO is just a concept as of now, though Tata do not rule out the possibility of launching something similar in the future. According to the company, such a car, if ever produced, should be priced about Rs 10 lakh.
