Company updates the Punto hatchback for 2012
The Punto hatchback has been re-packaged to offer more value to the customer.
Fiat have brought down some of the high-end features of the car to its lower variants while the top-end Emotion Pack variant has been removed, at least for the time being. The Active variant comes with a central door locking system, a stereo with speakers and speed-sensitive audio volume adjuster and power windows with delay and auto down functions. The Dynamic variant gets a driver seat height adjuster.
The car's ground clearance has increased from 173 to 195 mm in the Active variant and from 171 to 185 mm in the Dynamic and Emotion variants. The Emotion variant also gets 15-inch alloy wheels and 190/60 R15 tyres. All the three existing engines will be available in 2012. However, a 90 PS version of the 1.3-litre diesel engine will be introduced later in the year. A new dark blue colour, as seen in the picture here, has been added to the existing palette. The 2012 edition will be launched across India in January with a very small price revision, if at all.
